Internet Famous in Print!
by Cameron Chapman in Featured, News
Internet Famous is finally available in print, through Amazon.com. Currently, they’re selling it for full price ($24.99), but I’ve heard through other authors that once it’s also available through other bookstores, Amazon will most likely discount that to compete. Of course, it could take up to five more weeks for other bookstores to start carrying it, so if you don’t want to wait, you’ll have to pay full price.

New Social Media Book Site Launches Tomorrow!
by Cameron Chapman in News
Anyone who’s been following this blog for long knows I’ve been working on a nonfiction book about social media (did I mention that last part?). Well, tomorrow I’m launching the website for the book, along with a Facebook fan page and a Twitter feed.
Editing on the book is basically done, and I’m expecting to release the book (both in print and digital formats) sometime in August.
Tomorrow I’ll reveal the title of the book and give you all the URL for the new site. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at the cover (and a hint: the number of question marks corresponds to the number of letters in the title):

Staying Motivated
by Cameron Chapman in Craft
Staying motivated over the course of any long-term project can be tough. Writing a book is no different. When you’re looking ahead at weeks or even months of writing, maintaining momentum gets tricky. My novels generally go pretty quickly, but this new nonfiction writing project is moving much slower than my previous books. With all the research involved, I’m only managing a couple thousand words a day.

Why Self Publish?
by Cameron Chapman in Publishing
If you’ve been reading this blog for long, I’m sure you already know I’m planning on self publishing a nonfiction book in the coming months. Self publishing has a long history of being ridiculed and looked down upon, so why in the world would I decide to do this to myself? Couldn’t I find a traditional publisher? Why in the world would I risk the future of my writing career by self publishing the first book I ever publish?

Writing A Non-Fiction Book
by Cameron Chapman in Non-Fiction
I am currently working on my first non-fiction book. While I’ve completed somewhere around a thousand blog posts and articles over the past couple of years, this is my first attempt at book-length non-fiction. It’s a bit of a daunting task, the idea of writing 250 or so pages about something that I didn’t make up. And the idea that I will not be judged just based on my words and their ability to entertain, but also on the accuracy and usefulness of those words, is kind of scary.

Hello and Welcome!
by Cameron Chapman in News
A bit about myself is probably in order, seeing as this is a completely new blog. I’ve been blogging for about two and a half years now. I started on my own blog, GreenStyle Magazine back in July of 2006. It’s still around, though currently on hiatus right now. In 2007 I started writing semi-regularly for Mashable, the 8th most popular blog out there and the most popular blog focusing on social media. And recently I’ve started writing for Smashing Magazine. You can see more of my writing on my portfolio page.
