I am just about finished with rewrites on my fifth novel (the first four are still in various stages of development, along with the sixth and seventh) and I’m now approaching the point where there’s little writing or editing left to be done with it. And in all honesty, I’m really happy with the way it’s turning out. My beta readers, for the most part, seem to have enjoyed it, too. By the end of March, it should be ready to go.

Here we are, on the cusp of a new decade. I will be the first to admit I am wholly unprepared for 2010 (and let’s please call it twenty-ten, NOT two-thousand-ten; after all, we say “nineteen-ten” not “one-thousand-nine-hundred-ten”), but that doesn’t mean I haven’t given it a lot of thought.

Internet Famous is finally available in print, through Amazon.com. Currently, they’re selling it for full price ($24.99), but I’ve heard through other authors that once it’s also available through other bookstores, Amazon will most likely discount that to compete. Of course, it could take up to five more weeks for other bookstores to start carrying it, so if you don’t want to wait, you’ll have to pay full price.

The ebook edition of Internet Famous is now available. You can download a free ebook copy if you’re a Twitter user here. Or, if you’d prefer to purchase a copy, you can do so through SmashWords for $5.99. The print edition is set to be released in October.

Just a quick apology for not posting any writing prompts this week. They’ll resume tomorrow (Wednesday, July 22nd). I’ve had a crazy, busy week so far and just haven’t had time to post them. Please peruse the archives if you’re looking for inspiration. And again, sorry for not keeping the regular schedule this week.

Well, today’s the day, as promised. The site for my forthcoming book, Internet Famous, is now live! Head on over to check out info about the book, enter the “Why I Should Be Internet Famous” contest and get updates on the official release date.

Anyone who’s been following this blog for long knows I’ve been working on a nonfiction book about social media (did I mention that last part?). Well, tomorrow I’m launching the website for the book, along with a Facebook fan page and a Twitter feed.

Editing on the book is basically done, and I’m expecting to release the book (both in print and digital formats) sometime in August.

Tomorrow I’ll reveal the title of the book and give you all the URL for the new site. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at the cover (and a hint: the number of question marks corresponds to the number of letters in the title):

Wired Magazine has a great article on The Future of Reading in a Digital World. It’s time for writers and publishers to stop thinking about the future of publishing and start thinking about the future of reading. There’s some great stuff in there that might be of particular interest to indie authors and publishers.

Well, I’ve got more to post this week than I have for the past couple. First of all, I’m planning on launching the new book website prior to June 1st if all goes according to schedule. Stay tuned here or follow me on Twitter for the latest updates.

Mentioned in that article is an article by Henry Baum titled The Last Stigmas of Self-Publishing, which I thought deserved it’s own mention here.

This is going to be another short one. On a personal note, my freelance writing has really picked up recently, with three new inquiries in the past couple of week and two new regular gigs.
